My grandmother, Ruth M. Ward, passed away on Sept. 13th. She had a long, slow decline and her death let her finally be at peace. She was a good woman, much beloved by her family, who will miss her dearly. She is survived by 3 children, 11 grandchildren and (I think) 20 great-grandchildren, and one or two more on the way.
She went through many very difficult trials in her life, but remained optimistic about life. She was generous with her time and service. She devotedly attended the temple 2-3 times a week and did 2-3 sessions at a time. She quilted and donated over 200 blankets to various charities (and to her grandchildren).
I took the boys with me up to Idaho for her funeral on the 20th. Aaron couldn't come with us due to deadline restraints, so it just me driving the whole way. We were able to spend several days with family and catching up. Some of us cousins hadn't seen each other in over a decade!
We were also able to attend the baby blessing of my sister's new little girl. Emma is adorable and my boys love her. They are constantly telling me we need to go back and visit some more and play with the baby.

I'm sorry for your family's loss. She sounds like a most excellent lady. I'm sure she's keeping busy now. ^_^
And I'm glad that you and the boys had a good visit with family.
