Well, Adam was sad (he actually cried the day before) because he wouldn't have a class party or go on a field trip (he doesn't go to school yet). But Danielle saved the day (Thanks, Danielle!) when she called and asked if we would like to join her and some other friends at the zoo. Adam had woken up in a cranky mood and it didn't get better when I told him he couldn't play Lego Star Wars and that we were leaving the house. He cried and complained that he didn't want to go to the zoo the entire way there and for the first 10 minutes we were there.
Our friends, Michael and Owen, were confused by the noise Adam was making, and kept asking why he was crying. Adam tried not to laugh when they started making funny faces at him and he just got louder. Thankfully, Adam was completely distracted by the gorillas. Wow! They are some amazing animals! We saw several of them playing with one of their babies and enjoying the sunshine.
After all the tantrums, he finally cheered-up and enjoyed the rest of our trip.
Little boys must climb whatever is around them!
It was a beautiful day and only a little chilly. Adam hates wearing long pants and I was done arguing for the morning, so he wore shorts that day. He is a warm-blooded little boy and was just fine with his jacket and running around. Adam loves all of the different kinds of apes and loves to imitate their sounds.
This orangutan lady was warming up in the sun with a gunny sack for a blanket.
I didn't get very many pictures and most of them were of the back of kids heads, but we enjoyed our day and Adam got to proudly inform Samuel that he got to go on a field trip too!

Sounds like a fun day. I am jealous of your sunshine.
