That afternoon and early evening, we went and joined the group for dinner and socializing. Here's a clip of Pasadena's New Year's Eve tradition. Throwing marshmallows back and forth between those waiting for the parade and people in cars! Too funny, sometimes!
The next morning, we were there bright and early, in plenty of time to have some donuts and settle in. Here's a clip of my boys playing in the street.
I really like the floats, but the marching bands are the best. Here's a clip of the first band to go by. There were some great bands this year, including a blind marching band. The band members had guides next to them and they played great!
So many fun floats! Loved this Wizard and Dragon one! The dragon was animated and moved its head up and down.
This is a video clip of the best float. It was a Brazilian Carnival!
And then there was Jackie Chan!
Yup, this is really him! We had a great time and then went home and collapsed.

that is a cool post. we watched it on tv and i wondered if we might see you guys in the crowd, but we didn't.
On TV, you only see where the parade begins, but it lasts for about 5 miles. We were about half-way through.
Oh. EM. GOSH. You saw JACKIE CHAN?????
So. Jealous.
Are you stoked about the remake of The Karate Kid?? I know I am!
(P.S. Yay for you guys being able to see the parade! ... I'm just so distracted by JACKIE CHAN. I adore him!!! [I am SUCH a dork. Oh well!])
