I'm back! My computer has been slowly dying for awhile and over the last month it was gasping its last breaths. Of course, it completely died at the most inappropriate time - the day before Samuel's big school project was due. He was to give an oral presentation and hand in his written report on Minecraft in 2 days. His report was all written up and I had just saved it, when my computer started flopping. It would blue screen and then reboot itself and stay on for about 2 minutes and then repeat the process. Two minutes is not long enough to get something printed out, especially when trying to do anything on it would make it reboot itself again.
So, I did what little research I could, and then took myself off to buy a new computer. All by myself! I felt very proud of myself! Aaron, due to his family background and previous job at HP, is the designated techie in our family. He just didn't have time with all his work commitments to help me get a new one in time.
I now have an HP Slimline desktop computer - nothing fancy, but it's a nice upgrade from my other 7 yr old computer. I very happily set it up and then had to help Samuel rewrite his report in time for the deadline. He did fantastic on it and his teacher said he did great on his presentation :)
Getting the data off our old computer was a pain, and it took Aaron almost a week to finally get everything transferred. Now, I'm happily sitting here writing this and I know the computer won't shut down until I tell it to! Bliss!

love new things!
Glad you were able to get a new computer. Ours is also on it's way out after 5yrs...at least you got 7years out of it, not bad for a computer.
