Pirates Say "Arrrrr!"

Today we went to the Big Bear Pirate Faire up at Big Bear Lake. It's basically a renaissance faire with a pirate theme. We had a great time! It was very family friendly and had a great treasure hunt for the kids. As you walked into the faire, you could buy a treasure map and go around the stalls with special flags to get your map stamped. Once you collected all of the stamps, you took it to the Treasure Hunt booth and picked out a prize.

As you can guess, we finished our maps and collected our prizes. Samuel got a pirate set (hook, sword, eye patch, and pistol) and Adam picked out a stuffed toy frog. During this process we took the time to look around at all of the booths, watch a show and play a few games.

There was a big "Pirate Battle" show where two groups of pirates were fighting over a big chest of treasure. There was cannon fire and pistol and musket shooting.



Finally, there was a sword fight and the last standing pirate made off with all of the booty.



Fun show and the boys were done too. It was chilly and windy out and we had a long trip home. We stopped to buy our final souvenirs and left.
