Kids make a parent say the darndest things! There's the usual threats and warnings like, "Clean up your room, or else!", "Don't put your finger in the light socket!", and "NO! Not as long as I live and breathe!".
Then there's the loving words of "I love you!", "You are so cute!"and "Awww, snookie ookums!"- sometimes said in a syrupy, obnoxiously adoring sort of way (especially to infants).
And then there's the times like last week when I had to say, "Don't sit on your brother's head!" and like today when I had to say, "Snot is NOT a toy!"
Most of these make sense and as a parent, you expect to say them at some time or another. But the last two really threw me and made me ask, "Did I really just say that?!" and wonder, "WHY did I just have to say that?!"
