Today, I shall whine. Why? Because I feel miserable. I've felt worse, but I'm cranky and whiny and this is my blog, so I can do what I want. (Warned ya! CRANKY!)
To cap off my irritability, our master bathroom plumbing backed-up AGAIN. This hasn't happened since we first moved in (and that was a HUMONGOUS disaster) and while this wasn't as bad, it was enough to make a big mess. Thankfully, not enough of a mess to have us put up in a hotel for a week again. (Yeah, it was that bad last time).
It is allergy season. I hate it. I had mild allergies in the fall when we were living back in Oregon. When we moved down here, they turned full-blown, twice a year for two months at a time, attack on my sinuses. UGH! Good news is that Claritin finally has a marketed generic form. Behold, the super cheap, generic form of Claritin! How I love it so!
Regular Claritin is about $1 a pill. Generic is about $0.13. Woot! This was working great until I also caught a cold. Sigh. Cold+allergies seems to be a bit too much for this wonderful little pill. I can breathe a little easier than I can without it, but I'm miserable enough to be CRANKY!
Mostly because a sinus attack can also trigger a migraine. I get what I've been told is an ocular migraine. Last week, I had two migraines, one which lasted a day and a half.

It starts out making my vision go like the picture above. Then the distorted part widens until it almost completely covers my field of vision, sometimes with other distortions making a lightning/zig-zag pattern. If I don't IMMEDIATELY lie down and rest, then the migraine takes over my whole head and I feel like my head is a nut and some one's got a great grip on a nutcracker. I'll get nauseous and then it will last for the whole day and can last up to 3 days.
The migraines have several triggers; heat, dehydration, lack of sleep, too much sun, too much sodium, bright lights, allergies, colds, and anything else that affects my sinuses. So, yeah. Living in Southern California hasn't been so great for my head.

I know your pain....Allergies = Miserable!
I feel for you with the migraines. I have 7 circles on my calendar to document them last month, and that was a huge improvement! I don't get the occular very often, but it is the weirdest thing ever. I get gaps so I will look at someones face and it lookes like they don't have a nose and no peripheral vision. It is so random. I have had the flashy zig zags too. Seriously the brain is an amazing thing.
Just thinking about a migraine makes me nauseated!!! So sorry you haven't been feeling the best!!
