It's one of those that shoots up from the ground. They love it and had a great time cooling off and getting some energy out. Adam crashed at 6pm that night :D
My Samuel is a deep thinker. He notices everything. He may seem like he's not paying attention, but don't be fooled! He ponders what he's heard throughout the day and will ask us all sorts of questions. Sunday night, he came up with some deep ones.
As I was tucking him into bed he asked, "Mommy, how did Heavenly Father become Heavenly Father if he never came to earth? How did he become God? He has a body, right? How did he get it?"
I looked at him, a bit stunned that my seven year old was asking such deep questions. I don't think I asked those questions until I was in my teens. I answered, "Those are fantastic questions! They have some slightly complicated answers and Daddy and I will answer them. Tomorrow. For Family Home Evening. Right now, it's almost an hour past your bedtime. Go to sleep!"
I kissed him goodnight and went and told Aaron about Samuel's questions. He was impressed and I put him in charge of putting the lesson together. One giant brain speaking to another always works best :)
Monday night, we had a deep and very spiritual FHE. We answered Samuel's questions to the best of our knowledge (and according to the scriptures) and he was satified.
He is such a smart boy and has such a busy brain! I love it!

I am humbled as a mother to be teaching these children of the latter-days. They are very deep thinkers and really make me stop and pause too =-)
WOW! I am so impressed with those questions, and the way you guys followed up with it.nI probably would have been a fumbling all over it!
