First was climbing on the wooden train, running through the tunnels...
climbing the hay pyramid.....
and walking on giant pumpkins! It was very warm (around 85 or more) and the costumes were quickly shed. Thankfully, the boys were in shorts underneath.
Next, we did the corn maze and we decided to divide into teams and race to the center. Samuel and Aaron on one team and Adam and I on the other. Adam and I quickly learned the secrets of the maze and found our way to the center first! We beat the other two by a good five minutes! Wahoo!
Then, we headed for the other activities. Sadly, we were bad picture takers that day and didn't get very many shots. The boys loved this little train ride and the vegetable slingshot. Yup, a giant slingshot where you shoot veggies out into a big field and you get points for hitting certain targets. The boys won some candy and were thrilled :)
We spent some time at the bounce houses and then headed over to "mine" for some gems. Unfortunately, we didn't get any decent pictures of that.
After all that excitement and heat, all of my boys were a bit beat. We headed over to the playground and petting zoo area and took a break in the shade. While the boys hung out, I went in search of something that would perk them back up. Aaron especially doesn't do well in the sun for long stretches of time. Thankfully, I found a shaved ice booth that gave free refills! And they had both plain and Hawaiian style! (Hawaiian is ice cream on the bottom, shaved ice with flavoring and then topped with cream) Yummy! Amazing! I rounded up the boys and filled them full of icy goodness and saw some perkiness immediately emerge :)
We wandered over to catch the last of the pig races and Samuel found this nice cool play tunnel to relax in and enjoy his treat. He was quickly surrounded by little (18mo-2yr old) kids who sat and gazed longingly at his shaved ice. I was laughing so hard, I couldn't get a good picture! The entire tunnel was soon filled with kids sitting and eating their treats or staring longingly at those that had treats.
After that, we did another run through the corn maze, refilled our shaved ice cups and then picked out our pumpkins to take home and carve.
We took our pumpkins home to carve and have some dinner before heading out to trick-or-treat.
Samuel decided to do a two faced jack o'lantern. The top pic is supposed to be a vampire face and the bottom is supposed to be a zombie. Sorry, I am not an artist. Especially when it comes to wielding a knife.
The boys did a costume change again and Adam dressed in his new Woody costume and 10 minutes before we were supposed to leave, Samuel decided he wanted to be a vampire. So, we scrambled and put his nice church clothes on, flipped up his collar, put on a black cape that we already had, slicked back his hair, drew on a widow's peak and blood streaks, and found some fangs. It's amazing what we have in our dress-up bucket!
Our little friend in his monkey suit
We went trick-or-treating with some friends in a wonderfully decorated neighborhood. At least half the block was completely decked out and they had "ghosts" hanging from the trees lining the street. There was a combination of scary and just plain fun decorations and it really added to the atmosphere! We loved it!

Pumpkin farms are so fun! Cute costumes, I love how they got to be so many things.
Thanks for inviting us to go trick-or-treating with you guys....we especially loved the decorated streets!!
It kills me that in all your fun posts of the cool stuff you guys do, it's always sunny. I am kind of jealous of you California dwellers. I am glad you had such a fun halloween. You are such a great Mom.
